Greeting all,
It's (almost) a new year, and with a new year comes our new library software, WorldShare.
Brad, Eric and I have been putting it through it's paces and entering items that did not transfer properly. Everything looks to be working well, but we don't yet know what the bugs will be ;-)
We have set up a training session, that we highly encourage you to come to, on January 3rd at 10am in the Lab. While not mandatory (or paid, unfortunately), it might be your only chance to get to know the new software before you have to run the lab.
If you are unable to make it on the 3rd I highly recommend that you do the tutorials below, make sure you can sign in using your Network ID and then stop in at the lab before your next shift to get a look at the software and try it out.
WorldShare tutorials can be found here
And Pearl Ly, from Shatford Library, has set up a useful guide for us here.
I expect there will be some minor confusion as we begin the semester with this new software, but once we are all used to it we will enjoy the benefits of the new system, not the least of which is using this cloud based service from ANY computer we like, even from home! EVEN from a Macintosh!
See you all soon and Happy New Year!
Zac
