I am trying out "Deep Freeze" security software on computers 1-4 for the next little while.
Mat Camara has also installed it on iMac #22 to see how well it plays with ProTools.
It is the same approach as the other software we tried (SmartShield) where students can do whatever they want to the computers, but at restart it returns to its original pristine state. This software is already being used throughout the campus and might offer some cost savings and operational benefits.
PLEASE let me know if there are any issues with this software.

UPDATE:
It looks like we are going to install this software in the Music Lab and in the CA-116 Electric Piano/Computer lab.
I have begun cleaning up iMacs downstairs and installing the trial version, so that converting to permanent is simply a matter of adding the software license.
as of 4/1/14 stations 1-8, 13 and 22 are "frozen" and seem to be working very well.
