After several calls to Facilities, and unsuccessful visits from their technicians, I have worked out a solution that seems to keep the Lab's front doors from sticking.
If the push bars are cinched up tight the door mechanism will not catch, so I've wrapped some velcro tight around the push bars. If you open or close you will need to tighten or loosen the velcro to lock or unlock the door.
