Hi Everyone,
Please read this note from Librarian Pearl Ly.

Data Migration Issue: Tracking Item Statuses
We’ve already
sent all of the library records to the WMS team and they are working to migrate
our data for the new system. In the meantime, we are in a “cataloging freeze”
and we are unable to make changes to the records that were sent and if we do,
they will reset to how they were on July 23, 2012. I don’t know how
frequently you change information for your items but if you change the item status for anything (Missing, Lost,
Damaged), change a barcode, or add an item note, please track these items so we can change them post-migration (mid-October).
Example: if a
patron returns a book that was overdue for a while and it was marked “Lost,”
you’ll discharge the book and remove the “lost” status so that it says the item
is “Discharged or Not Charged.” [This can only be done under your supervisor
account, not with the "Music" logon.] Please write down the
barcode number on a list so we can adjust this item record later.
If you have
any questions regarding this tracking, feel free to call Pearl Ly (x3309) or
Jared Burton (x7843).
I have made a sheet for us to fill in any status changes. It can be found in a black folder marked "Library Item Status Changes" in the organizer shelves near the Lab Supervisor's desk (where we keep the "Blue Book")
Thanks!
Zac
If you have no idea how to do status changes please ask Brad, Zac or Eric for a quick How-To.
Thanks!
Zac
