There seems to be some confusion with Dr. Young's Mu 43 class on Wednesday nights. All of the piano rooms are reserved for the class from 6:15-closing. Previously, the students in the class used to check out the piano rooms at the circulation desk; now it seems that Dr. Young has assigned them to specific rooms, and they aren't coming to the circulation desk to check out the rooms. We were checking out rooms and giving room cards to non-Mu 43 students who came back a few minutes later telling us that the rooms are already taken. This started happening around 7:20, and caused much chaos tonight, with several students not in the Mu 43 class complaining that ALL of the piano rooms are reserved for one class. After much ado, Rudy and I decided that the best solution was to turn all the piano room cards around until the Mu 43 students returned to class at 8:45 tonight. (I was told by one student that they return to V202 at that time.) However, it looks as if the rooms are reserved for the class for the rest of the evening. The class begins at 6:15 and ends at 10:10. We're now telling all the non-Mu 43 students requesting piano rooms that all the pianos are reserved for a piano class. When the students return to V202 at 8:45, can we check out the piano rooms to other students? Please advise...
(Somehow, Maggie Wong and Guy Hawke managed to secure a couple of piano rooms in V206)
Also, how does the lab get credit for the time spent in the rooms that aren't checked out, but are being used?
