- Student John Paul (J. P.) Tordilla, who is in Dave Tull's 57F Latin Jazz Ensemble class, wanted access to 108A. I have no list of approved students for anyone in 57F. I let him in this time. I'd appreciate guidance on handling future access requests from Mr. Tordilla and maybe others in the class.
- 96A student Robert Trujillo (in Dan Cole's 96A) seems resistant to the idea of getting a Lancer ID, stating that others in the lab don't require it. While allowing him access to the MIDI lab this Saturday, I placed him on notice that knowing his Lancer number would no longer be adequate for checking out lab materials and that he needed a Lancer ID card.
- No one checked out the Mobile Recording Unit today. Yet, when I was closing up, I found it opened and everything turned on. I had not gone in there when I opened up. I shut it down, but did not know how Dan would want the Computer monitor, keyboard, etc. removed to allow the covers to be placed on the unit to secure it. I also found the power supplies to all the MIDI stations on and shut those down, too.
- I'm also chronically kicking out one student from 216 who respectfully complies, but continues to go into 216 to practice without checking out a room. When it happens again I will try to get his name. I'm getting to where I would like lock down each room in 216 and unlock it for each individual, once they check it out. How would you all feel about that?

Student warnings
Hi, all. No big news here. Just a heads up.

1-I will add JP Tordilla to the list (OK to use drum rooms)
ReplyDelete2-Next time R. Trujillo comes in w/o his ID card, inform him that he cannot use rooms or check ANYTHING out w/o his ID. Send him to speak with me if he resists you on this issue. W/O an ID, he is technically trespassing here at PCC!
3-The mobile recording key is for the padlock only, any student in 216F could open up the mobile recording unit!
4- We have to be more vigilant in checking in on 216 practice rooms. Almost every time I go by the room, I look in to verify that the students have followed our protocols. If you lock down the practice rooms you will be constantly going back and forth to open/lock those rooms. The signs in the rooms state that students may be asked to show their ID when asked by the lab instructor. I look through the windows for the room card or knock on doors to ask to see the room card from every one using the 216 rooms.
